Adjusted HIDs , what a world of diffrence!
I used a 8 mm socket and turned the plasric bolts clockwise(you facing the car) at a 1/4 turn. I used my garage wall to measure hight. Went to check on them last night, perfect. My first victim unfortunately was a cop who i ended up behind , the hid beams fell just over the top of his crown vic emblem. If i got on it the beam rose to his back seats. I turned off then turned the other way where traffic was coming towards me and no one flashed me, although lower vehicles like honda civics, vettes, etc, the hid beam shines slightly in there cabin. Probaly looks worse from there end, but nothing where it would cause total blindness and making them crash.
It lights up the road farther than normal, almost don't need the fog lights on. When the fog lights are on(nokya artic whites) it is very bright , but once again nothing too extreme to cause accidents.
I am happy with the adjustment, for any of you who do it make sure you have a wall to measure your old beam height and new beam height just incase you have to make any adjustments in between.

Its the white plastic bolt or nub looking piece, right on the backside of the light housing. Look strait down and you will see it unless you its dirty with oil you can't miss it.

My (non-HID) headlamps were way too low when I got my car used... I mean WAY too low, it was almost unsafe. The white plastic hex-head bolt did the trick (they used it back in 2k as well)

ok.. dumb questions... how does one measure where the beams should be... do you face a wall some XX distance away and adjust till they are ok.... how high/low should the beam be (3 feet from ground, 3.5, etc)??
i think passenger light beam is too low....

Here you go ....

Hope that helps. Very important to have the headlights aimed correctly especially HIDs.

Unless we are driving in a back road in the Poconos every day I really don't think we should adjust our headlights. For the most part all of us live by adequate lit roads and if we do need extra light that's what HIGH beams are for. The HID's in the MAX are pretty bright and would definetly blind somebody if we start messing with the adjustment of the height. Besides it's another reason to get pulled over by the cops.

don't do it
I've been in front of people who have messed with thier lights and it totally sucks. Raising the HIDs is similar to driving with your high beams on. You pi*s people off and it's actually not the safest thing to do for other drivers who have to see glaring light in the rear and side view mirrors. I think the factory setting takes common courtesy into account.
