I wonder why he is selling it so cheap? And what kinds of problems he is having? My first guess would be electrical, my second, snapping axles

Props to homeboy though

No...basically he:
1)Swapped a VQ35w/6spd into a 2K.
2)Swapped 2K2 headlamps/tails to a 2K.
3)Swapped or was going to swap all the interior.
4)Swapped 2K2 caliper/rotors to a 2K.
5)Rims/tires.

If I wasn't looking to buy a house, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Snapping axles? Pretty sure they're VQ35 axles.

Engine bay similarities with mine.

One obvious thing is the valve/do-hicky next to the vin plate that is no longer there. Some of the brake lines too.

Edit: Also, why on Gods' green earth would anyone sell a 2K2+ with 25K miles for $12Kobo?

He already owned the 2K and it appears to have been a GXE, so it wasn't worth much for sale/trade-in.

Wonder how much the donor cost....

Hey, hey, that car is mine!
It is ideed a 2000 maxima, poor gxe auto, i mean it was.
Lots of work and money to accomplish that.
Do not try this at home
And NO, there is no problems in the car related to the swap.
If i was not looking for a house, i'd keep it.
Lesson learned: i would never do a swap again.
If i sold that 2k and just bought a 2k2 at least i would nt be explaining to every potential buyer why the engine is wrong and it's 6 speed, but supposed to be 5 and all that kind of crp.

Also, I'd be willing to be the O2-sensor harnesses don't normally lay over the top of the engine like that.

The seats, front bumper and grill are the only things in the pictures that I can see that are 2000ish. However the front bumber looks to be slightly off color in the pictures. Many other things appear to have been swaped and are items I would have swapped too had I done this.

Try selling a car withOUT the original engine and you'll know why.

It's not easy for a buyer to trust someones ability to do ALL THAT without some kind of quirks/problems down the road.

He's probably had lots of people look, but NONE willing to take it.

BTW, no warranty to boot. No way he'd get 2K3 price.

So, i wll try to answer some ?s
I got the donor (rollover) 2k2 se with 21k miles.
Yes i got LOTS of free time (since aipril) thanx to the state of us economy.
I used the engine, tranny, axls, clutch, sound sys, climate control, steering wheel etc., basically all i could use; most of the wiring harnesses have been used also - to make things work; that eliminated such problems as drive-by-wire gas vs. cable in 2000.

My first question is: why bother? My second question is the same as Stereodudes? No offense but, I'd be more impressed seeing that powertrain swap into a 4G. That would make the 4G a SUPER sleeper. But, swapping it into "another 5G" is almost a non-event. Just my $.02.

You're kidding right? Any swap(especially one that's never been done before) is pretty cool. You wanna try it and see how much of a "non-even" it is??

Ok...you own a slow 3.0 autotragic 5th gen and you come accross a super cheap low mileage VQ35w/6spd. As long as I had LOTS of time on my hands and a second car, I'd do it.

i have done a few motor swaps..all SR20s and they are easy! everything bolts up, including all plugs. NOW, this guy put a 2002 motor in an 00. I would think that plugs, sensors are different. Mad props to him for a very clean swap!
