Okay this is going to be a lot but I need to get it off my chest. I have had my 2000 Max for over a year now and my troubles are starting to surface! and I mean in a big way. I have owned a Nissan in one form or another since 1993! It started with 300 Z and has come to a 2000 Maxima SE. The 2000 SE has been great up till now, but over the last several months I have begun to have all sorts of trouble, First it was small rattles, then it was the tranny (they replaced that) then it was the brakes, groaning and vibrating! then it was some ticking from my interior fan! and now it is this annoying vibration that comes through the steering wheel, gas pedal and floor pan! when I am on the highway travelling over 60 mph. The only thing that has been fixed to this point with no hassle has been the tranny! They are jerking me around about the brakes! So what to do now? Are any of you guys having similar problems? I am not intending to bash this car, because to be honest I really like it!

There is a TSB for the brakes in regards to having the

rotors replaced it is TSB # IS NTB00-088, you may wanna use the search feature on the fan, I am not aware of this. Hope everything works out.

Welp two of those problems can be cross related....the brakes and rotors. If your rotors become very warped they CAN cause a vibration at higher speeds. If not that, the wheels just need to be ballanced....that can happen to a new car or one thats 15 years old.

Well thks Mike S. I think I know this. But this is not my first car or my first day on earth. I think their may be more to it. I know these things all relate, the problem is it may be any combination of things or just one alone. The problem is that the dealership may not be willing to take the steps to remidy the problems. I have already had them give me the "well you do need your rotors turned and pads replaced" bull!

hope not!

i've had my 2k SE for 11.5 months now, and i'm hoping the 1 year mark doesn't bring the kind of troubles you've been having! i have had the windshield seal replaced (under warranty, which they were very good about) when it started dripping water on my lap. they even steam cleaned the water-stained headliner for me. i have also noticed the rattles starting to surface as of late, especially in the interior door paneling and somewhere inside the dash. i figured for 30 grand i could drive a car for a year without that happening. i guess they must use all the rubber washers in the infinity's...

RE: your sig.. I have the Aiwa CDC-MP3... it's great. If you do get it.. get the gxe ventilator assembly from any nissan dealer and an extra storage cup (since the radio is single din size). The crutchfield dash kit is lame. Second.. if you dont want all that empty space in your sig.. nuke any extra white space between tags, this software on this board turns them into carriage returns.
