the original and existing sealant, you dont need to buy more glue! the only time i would use another sealant is if i opened up the headlights more than once.

Really? I thought you were supposed to use some clear silicone?

Heat it up just like as when you opened it up, and it should seal right back together like normal... Sometimes you have to heat it for a little longer (depending on weather conditions) to get the sealant "guey" enough...

when you pull the headlight apart you do not lose any of the existing sealant. it all snaps back into the same spot. the only time i would use a different type of sealant is if i took the headlight apart more than once. then you might have to worry about condensation and so forth. if you do it once though, you will have nothing to worry about. there is plenty there and you will see what i am talking about once you pull it apart. i pulled apart my 2000 lights 3 times and never used another sealant with no problems.

yeah for the first time i wouldnt even think twice about using another sealant. you have nothing to worry about. since these are more expensive lights, i would use a sealant if i plan to paint the inside black and pull them apart again. i want to see what it looks like first without being black since i cleared my lights the way i did.

The first time I opened my headlights I used the same sealant from the factory. One of my lights closed completely and one of them would get condensation in it. I highly recommend using clear silicone around the entire assembly if you plan on taking them apart. For you 2k2+ guys it is a must. I wouldn't want condensation in my $1000 headlights. Better to be safe than sorry.
