burnt headlight plug

I was driving home from work and all of a sudden, i smell and burt plastic smell coming out of the hood. I popped the hood when i got home and the plugs that plug into the headlights were burnt. I have those aftermarket hyperwhites. Think this is what caused it to burn? I've had the bulbs for 3 years and no problem at all till this one. How much would those new headlight plugs cost?

Also, i just bought a pair of HID lights, those that come on the 02-03 maximas. do they directly plug into the original plugs or do i have to cut the original plugs off to wire the new HID's? Someone please give me instructions to install the 02-03 Hid's on a 00 max. Thanks

i have the same problem with mine. The plastic just melted and i got to get a new one. i am gonna ask the dealer how much is it the next time i go in, i really hope its just the plug and not the whole wire pack that plug into the bulb.

LOL well i guess now was a good time as any for your wiring harness to melt. You will have to rewire the harness for your HIDs from the 02-03
