I wanted to install Konis and Spring Springs on my 01 SE and I checked around to see if it would work. I called and got the part numbers for '99 and 00/01 and they were totally different. The 4th gens even cost a lot less, $99/$250 for 4th and 5th respectively. Guess we're SOL for a while, however Brian Catts told me that instead of the Konis, he has a new coil-over kit coming out that should do nicely. Just thought that I'd pass it along.

Could you please post the part numbers for the Konis? $99 vs. $250... is that for each strut? Thanks!

BTW, the new coilovers will cost you $1,700...

The way the guy that I talked to made it sound like that was the price per strut... ******* for the 5th gens. The #'s were for '99s: 54302-44U28 and for the 5th gens: 54302-2Y985. $99 sounds reasonable for each strut, why would he change how many units he was talking about pricewise, and he said that the struts were totally different so I'm guessing that the price of new OE struts for the 5th gens is closing in on the price of coil-overs... damn.

Thank you! I'm not sure why the price is that high either.

I was calling around yesterday for koni struts, everone that I called said there are no koni struts for 00/01 maximas yet. I know the back koni shocks are the same because I have them on my car, and they are for 95-99. So I know 4th gen shocks are the same.

Didn't somebody post not too long ago that the Infinity has a Koni listing for a 2000, which is the same for a 2000 Maxima, since some other shock package listed the two the same?

Why didn't you get the front struts the same time you got the rears?

I called Koni NA today and talked to them. They said that they don't even have the 5th gen Maxes on their to do list, which means at elast June before they even go to work on them. Sucks.

HUH????to do list?? for what unless they are designing a set of struts for the front which are direct bolt-on. Otherwise, it is the same as 4th gen max, which you have to modify the struts for the front..about the rear's of course are bolt-on.

So come on ppl. according to Brian at cattman, Koni yellows for the 4th gen max also fit on 5th gen since modification is required!!!!!!!!

Just wait for the KYB AGX's, hoping they make it for 5th gen max or wait for the JIC coil-overs!!!!wowowowowoowowwow

I didn't have money at the time. My brother broke the seat off the stock shock so I had to get something, and I was not going to get another stock unit.
