coilovers or springs and struts

I have finally gotten tired of seeing my car ride higher in the front and draggin a** in the back. I have 18's on the car and a whole lot of gap between the tires and fender. What I'm wondering is which is better, coilovers or springs and struts? I'm leaning towards coilovers because of the adjustability. Another concern is ride quality. I don't want to slam the car on the ground and ride like a covered wagon. I just want to lower it about 1.5 inches or 1.75 inches. but try to keep the ride as good if not better than stock. Tien makes a coilover called the Type CS Damper for comfort and then there is the super street damper. I'm just wondering which is going to have the best ride without a lot of noise. I had a set of Eibachs on my last car that "clacked" when you hit a dip. Eibach said that was just the spring compressing and nothing to worry about. It was annoying though. Thoughts.....suggestions?????

Cheapest solution is Tein H.Tech and Tokico Illuminas

Of course coilovers are better, but several times more expensive...The SS is nice, and offers EDFC option, but no upper pillowball mounts! The CS only gives you height adjustability, and no damper settings!
