Another paint thread

While I was washing the winter off my 2k GLE I decided to do a good paint inspection on my new 2k3 Frontier after I washed it. It has about 1500 miles on it mostly highway. I was amazed at its condition - perfect, not one chip could be found on the front bumper, hood, door pillars or fender flares. Nissan must be using a different formula on their trucks. Anyone else have a late model nissan rig (other than a Max) that has good results with the paint?

Well, my 1993m Nissan Maxima's paint is perfect. No chips from, rocks on the highway. Also, so far my 2003 Max has no paint chips.

If you drive it long enough in the wrong environment, it will get chipped. It could be something as simple as a pebble flying out of the tire of the vehicle in front of you.

I wonder since your truck was made in the US if it has a less EPA friendly paint. Who knows.

The few chips I've had on my Maxima have been huge and I know the rock that caused it was not very big. On my other cars it would take a huge size rock to put a chip that size on it not to mention dent the metal.

if you really think about it, its gonna happen one way or another... driving on the roads, you can hit anything, anything can hit you... it sucks but thats just a part of driving... i bought a factory bra and had an upholstry shop modify it to fit with the stillen kit. he did a good job, u can still tell it has a kit, and it prevents me from getting chips on freeway... maybe you guys want to try this as well...

because of the insane rainy weather its off right now, plus its too cold for me to go out there and slap that fu**er back on... once weather gets better, ill make a thread with pics...

but, basically he added another leather portion to the bottom to extend enough to fit the kit, and he put rivets under the kit to keep it on nice and snug...
