is that a good price???

After driving my 02 maxima GLE, my friend is thinking about getting a 02 maxima. About 4 days ago at a dealership he found a 02 SE that had 31,000 miles on it and absolutely no options except for the standard spoiler, sunroof, and factory single disc cd/tape deck. he said the dealer wants $19,000. Is that a good price for a used maxima??? cause my friend is thinking about purchasing it. also for any of you that have the same car how much did you pay for it when you purchased it???

Is is an auto or a 6 speed ? Either way, its too much for that mileage. Infiniti offered me 13k for my Max , a few months ago , and my car has every option made.

My brother just got one for his 16th. It was an '01 with every option available. He got it for 18k. So a barebone '02 aint worth more.

Ahhh... and it has 18K on the clock.....

I'm not sure where you are located, but Chicago seems to have rather high car prices.

Just thought I'd add that Kelly's Blue Book has a 2001 GLE with all options with 18,000 on the clock, retail value at $20,000. So how you paid 13, even wth 50K on the clock is beyond me. You sure you dont have cloth and no climate control or bose?

Don't buy it from a dealer. I am sure there are other ORG members that want to sell theirs. Just look around.

$19,000 is way over IMO, i would jus push for a new car if so.

I jus bought my 2k GLE, all opts w/ 63k last month for 12500 OTD.

Black Book (the one we use at dealerships) says 2k2 SE auto (base) at 15-15.5 clean trade, GLE at 16.5. Loaded SEs somewhere in between there. The only options that add value to Maximas are leather seating, sunroof, and nav. Subtract 1200 for 6-speed. The base SEs are onl bringing 13-14k at auction, if they sell, due to the flood from rental market (mostly 2k2s with 10-30k miles)

NADA Yellow (Dealer version) shows retail of 18,000 for 2k2 SE auto (base) trade value 16 in good condition. They've most likely put at least $1000 into the car (tires, brakes, LOF, detail, window etching). The car is most likely and ex-rental. I would offer $16k + ttl.

Besides, you can't get a GLE w/ 6-spd

Anyways, back to topic, blue book value for that (assuming it's in excellent condition) is $18,320...but again, it should probably be even lower than that.
