I'm trying to smoke out my clear tail lights but is there a smoke spray or transparent black spray of some sort?

 

VHT and Testors make some...search the web or a local arts & crafts store

use night shades thats waht i usedit was like $8 for a can

is it possible to see a "finished" product if you did this?

The best places to buy them are at hobby shops like hobbytown.

 

here is what i did i used it to tint the rear side markers on the bumper to match the tail lights. it looks alot better in person, because i took the pic in my garage, and my car is dirty from all the snow/salt. plus because of the flash on the camera it looks like there is a reddish tint. it really looks dark black in person.

Does it dimm the light much?

 

i actually disconnected the back bumper lights, because it was shinning through like a purpleish red, so i just took out the bulbs. i like it.

 

Did you spray over clear or red bumper lights?

In order for the tinting to come out shiny and glossy, you must keep spraying untill it is liquidy, but a trick part is that it may drip. It is not easy.

 

actually (as descibed my my how-to linked to above) to get a gloss/shinny finish, you need to go other it will a clear coat (and to protect it). Nite Shades is kindof matte when applied without a clear coat on top.

i did mine over red. got my cans from Summit (as linked to above). check out my how-to...should answer any other questions you have.
