30,000 service + more
30,000 service + more
i have 34,000 miles on my 03 max and just returned from a 1200 mile roadtrip... san francisco to san diego.. and i havent had my 30k service yet. and my brake pads seem to be wearing out, as my brakes screech when i press them. Also, the car seems to be heavier.. it feels like i am driving the car with the e-brake on, but im not. The thing is i currently don't hav ethe funds to take my Maxima to the dealership and i was wondering if you guys could give me some imput on what major services i should have performed myself and what are some of the things i should bring to a mechanic for. I brought my car to a private mechanic and he wanted to charge me about $300 for brake service... rotor resurfacing, new front/back brake pads, etc.. and i thoguht it was a ripoff so i just left. any imput would be greatly appreciated.. thx in advance

for your 30k service basically what the dealer does it change your oil.. fill up all the liquids... inspect a bunch of stuff.. lubricated all the stuff that need to be lubricated and change your spark plugs...
so what they really do is change oil... fill up all liquids and change spark plugs..
and for your brake surface... all u need is to change your brake pads and resurface your rotors
if u know how to take off your rotors... pepboys will resurface them for like 8 bucks each if u hand it to them

I dont think they even change the plugs untill 100k unless you realy want it done.
