New additions to the automotive family.

One improvement for my max, and one red-haired stepchild for it too:
Stillen RSB comes UPS (can't wait to put it on)

More interestingly, my wife finally got rid of her POS 2k Jetta and got a new Mazda 3s....Thing is pretty quick (15.5 1/4 supposedly), handling is TIGHT with the sport package, 17's and Goodyear RSA's....like the interior black and red seats and gauges (kind of like a Sentra Spec V)....Still will never go back to a 4-cyl, but if I did, this might be it.....

Have her drive a 3....she will want it....it's quick and handles well, but my wife says it's a "chick car"....The 3 she got has the sport package but base interior (no leather or sunroof) and a 5-speed, the Jetta she gave up was loaded with everything (leather, heated seats, etc.) and she still says the 3 is much much better. I will not trade her the max, though. There's no substitute for displacement, baby!

I might have to steal her rims though....too bad they're a little too narrow for the max (205's)....

Yeah I heard those are pretty good performers for a small SUV, and it's for your wife to drive anyways, right?. Damn that 3 handles better than my car....I need to get the RSB on there asap!

...notice my neighbor's Protege (same color) in the background. Boy is she going to be jealous when she wakes up tomorrow, since she talks alot of sh-t about her car! When I got the max, she tried to dog it like her Protege was faster Nice lady, though, otherwise.

OT...sorry, have to share the love!

hey manny...we are expecting too! july 14th-ish! this will be our second. congrats on your new addition! some advice on the suv-if a jeep grand is in the running, its nice, but it is a lot smaller than you think. we learned that after our first child. if you make trips to see family or vacations, the jeep gets really small. a pack-n-play 2suitcases and maybe a basinette, and that mug is full! add in a car seat and you've got seating for 3. and if you're tall-6'+ the back seat will be cramped for whoever is back there. we love our jeep but it is a little too small for our liking. hope my advise helps with the decision.

thanx bro-congrats to you- actually went to the docs yesterday and our due date is Aug 14-

Grand Cherokee's are out of the question- we have had two friends (different occasions) pass away cause of they lost control(flipped) - Not blaming it
on the car (because it uncertain the reason) but the bad perception is there.

She's always driven small cars (she's 5'6" and I'm 5'10") so we have to see....

It actually does the 1/4 in 16 sec flat which is still pretty impressive for a car in its class.

Look for a 2001-2002 Isuzu Trooper. I've had ours since new in Fall of '96 and all I've done is a starter. I tow dirt bikes with it every weekend through the moutains and there's more room than a Tahoe. Watch out for Tahoe's if you're going to tow any loads ....bad trannys.
Besides used Troopers are a bargin!

Grand Cherokees are ok, it's the Troopers that tip!

Its a kind of a parking street in a townhouse community....assigned parallel parking...kind of sucks, but I live in Fairfax County, one of the priciest counties in the country....townhouses with driveways/garages start at about 300,000 (and those are old ones), single fam houses are obviously more. Our house is all we could afford to buy at over 200.....I'm a gov't employee!!!!!!

Man I miss the garage on our old rental house....4 more years I will have one again. Anyhow, we haven't had any problems...people drive like 10mph on the little street...huge speed bumps everywhere so not too worried. Knock on wood.

Soonerfan - didn't have to talk her into it....she picked it (and she is VERY picky)....was not too interested in my suggestions She went and bought it herself....did not want to bring me along after I yelled at the guy at the Honda dealer last month when she was looking at Civics because he was trying to pull some bs and not compromise on price. It's better she did it alone....

Manny - will post RSB install pics when I do it. It's 17 degrees outside at the moment....maybe use the in-laws garage tomorrow or sunday if I get a chance. Instructuions w/RSB appear to be excellent...very clear, with photos. I am betting it will take under an hour.

BiggD23....yeah, I was a little tired when I posted it, but gimme a break - substitute is a synonym for replacement. Ok, so it doesn't rhyme, but you knew what i meant!!!

Congratulations on your wife's new car. It's a neat and decent car. I love the guages. It's like the 350z s with an addition of the blue lighting. Hope the Stillen RSB will work great. BTW, don't say POS Jetta. My cousin has a 2001 Jetta wolfsburg edition 1.8T and its awesome. It's chipped and it's really quick. Theyre pretty good cars too.
