I always used to replace my fuel filters every 20-30k. I think it is absolutely disgusting that Nissan made the replacement of the fuel filter so difficult. I wonder what would be involved in completely bypassing the fuel filter in the sending unit and installing an aftermarket filter in the engine bay for easy access.

Also, I'm wondering if this write up would also apply to 5th gen's with the 3.5 engine? I'm pretty sure that the 3.5 doesn't have a return line from the engine and instead the pressure regulator and return line components areall built into the pump or pump assembly iitself . . .
