Hey Guys

I read somewhere that some of you used the flood lights at homedepot (which are glass) to cut out a 3 1/4" circle and use it for the turn signal peice.

How did you cut it out, what did you use or where did u take it to be done?

Some used a dremel to cut it out. Do a search for "Home Depot."

 

I did and I read someone used a Dremel but they said they used some plastic light????

Then I read another thread with someone saying they used FLOOD LIGHTS, but they are glass.... You can't dremel glass?!?!

 

It was plexiglas. Plexiglas is a plastic

they are not glass. its a plastic. they are not exactly flood light lens. however, they are in the same section and these are the only type of lens replacement you can find at Home Depot.

 

What is the product called because I purchased GE 90w Flood Lights.

 

i have no idea what they are called. when i went to the outside lighting section, these were the only plastic replacement lenses i could find. they are a replacement lens to some type of light with a plug on the back of it. wish i could be more helpful.

 

hmmm is it in the same section as the light bulbs?

 

no, the Home Depot i went to had them in the outdoor lighting section.

 

i got the same ones...dont have time to cut it...i'm going to take it to a local place today (since i'm getting my angel eyes today) that sells glass & plexi-glass & see how much they will charge to cut it....i'll let u know....

I went to home depot outdoor lighting section and NO LUCK!

Can someone please post the name or model # of this Flood Light or Outdoor Light? PLEASE!?!!?!

i got a question....what about NOT using a piece of plastic and just leaving the bulb exposed (just pulling out orange and NOT replacing it)

will this look ghetto?

 

i assume you get a big ticket for this. You need to have reflectors.

 

the orange piece is not a reflector

in the front you only need to have a reflector on the side markers, not on the headlight

 

ill try to get a picture tonight of them.

 

How do you figure and why wouldnt you do it again?

 

headlights dont have reflectors!

 

i used a frosty plastic piece like a lot of others on .org... i have some uncut pieces leftover if u want that.... and also i have some clear pieces that are cut... and uncut if u need that as well...

 

I have no plastic piece there - just took the orange out and left it open. Check homepage for pics. I think it looks good.

Manny, those are the stock bulbs that came with the car.

 

really.....no very visible....

 

I remember reading that these lights came in a bag or something...and they're pretty cheap.

Also, when you dremel them out, apparently you need to make a couple notches or something?

 

when I cleared mine, I just left the piece off...BTW, the bulb that comes in there stock is clear and lights up yellow enough to be considered amber...This was told to me by a cop...The only problem is is it is super bright and angled upwards...But noone will miss me when I have my turn signal on

 

OK I found the bagged lights, 2 for ~$7.00

I used a dremmel to cut it out and sand it down to 3 1/4"

looks good. just make sure to put the three notches in it so it lays flat against the opening and so it wont turn on you once you line up the lens with the one above it.

 

How do you put that piece back on? Super Glue?

NP, Goodluck finding them, took me 2 trips hehe

 

I went and bought them today at Home Depot. The part # Igor listed above is actually incorrect. It's MLD11 (not P) and it cost just under $10 with tax.

there are three little pieces that stick out and act as bracket. no need to glue or anything else.
