Oil Light At Startup
Oil Light At Startup
I've noticed for some time that my oil light stays on for a few seconds longer than I think it should. When I turn the key it stays and always go out but it makes me wonder....
Anyone else encounter this? I did ask my oil change guy and he said it might be a sensor and it wasn't expensive? What sensor is he talking about?
Thanks
Robert

check your oil. i have seen a few 4th gens with the oil pressure sensor going bad but not a 5th gen yet. and if its cold outside it just takes the oil a bit longer to move around and register to the sensors... could be simply that. in any case i would run outside and check my oil, just for a peace of mind. if it's a sensor it can wait, if it's an actual oil issue it cannot wait.

Does an oil pressure switch sound like a cause for this problem? Oil light on for a 1/2 second or longer than the other lights that come on when you start up.
I have always since my max's first oil change used Castrol Synthic Oil.
I have 78K and have oil changed every 3.5K-4K which is like 2 months.
This has been going on for at least a year. No other symptoms.
