02, 03 automatic "tree" shifter

hey guys..
is it possible to switch my 01 auto shift. to the 02, 03 ones? If so, where can i purchase the whole part? thanks

In short, . I cant imagine there's any discernable advantage to having a gated shifter (2k2/3) versus the normal shifter (Y2k/2k1). For me, it was NOT a particular selling point for me when I got my Max; w/o SS, what's the point. just my $.02

I doubt it's possible. We don't have shift linkage...

no you cant switch. totally different shifter assembly. different wiring harness as well.

My buddy who drives an automatic 99 wanted to do the same thing. The reason being that when he drives "aggressively" he shifts it himself and one time he hit the shifter by accident at high RPMs and it wasn't pretty.
I think he was figuring a gated shifter would prevent that from happening again.

The gated shifter will not prevent him for shifting from drive to neutral
