Springs-whick ones to buy!
I want to get some springs for my car. I have my eyes set one the Eibach Pro Set but I know there some out there that are less expensive. Example being the maxspeed springs. Are those anygood? Why are they considerably cheaper than the Eibachs. Any help would be appreciated.

you want a drop? you'll go with teins, progess are next, then eibachs.
you want comfort you go with H&R
you wanna get cheap, go with maxspeeds.
been there..done that...
i got the H&Rs and im happy, i wish the front dropped a little more though...

Want looks? get Tein s tech or progress...
Want performance? get Eibach or h&r...
I have eibach and illumina and couldnt be happier. I think a lot of people that complain about eibachs being stiff are running them on soft stock struts.

We all know these kinda questions have been asked over and over, but most answers are how people liked their struts and springs, how about while this thread is open...can people give their views with details, what struts and springs have you used and where they more for look or for performance, i've heard that the Eibachs/H&R's are suppose to be a more comfortable drop compared to the rest, would you all say this is true? My main question tho, what is the best setup for a good looking drop but mainly one that improves handling without giving up too much comfort, i'd like to see a lot better performance in handling but don't wanna feel like i'm riding over potholes on a bmx bike

because everyone in here can swear that their drop/springs are the best-
here some knowledge from a another thread:

If you're talking about all around performance, then no, they're probably the worst. A 2.2" drop in the front and 1.6" drop in the rear gives you about .6-.7" of wheel travel before all the coils hit each other (bottoming out) or the bumpstop contacts the strut housing (assuming you cut the bumpstops 50-70%).
Read any performance handling handbook and you'll see that "low" doesn't equal good handling. The right spring rate, the correct damper, good wheel travel, and just enough lean is what makes a supreme handling car. In 1 year, you'll be wondering why your Teins are riding horribly and why you're bouncing all over the place. It will because your struts are blown. You'll have the image of looking fast, but that's all it will be...an image.
The best handling springs are H&R/Eibachs with adjustable Koni or Illuminas. The reason most people don't like these is because they don't drop enough. Well, the Maxima doesn't have a ton of wheel travel to begin with and the these quality spring companies know that. You get what you pay for with these springs.
If you want low, then JIC FLTs ($1500-1700) are the only way to go. You can have a pretty extreme drop and still keep most of the stock wheel travel because JIC uses shortened sturt housings which increase travel. Again, you get what you pay for.
I'm not here to make enemies with this post, but some of us know better and I just want people to be clear on what they're buying into. It's always better to research and pay a little more upfront to get the quality part. You'll see what I'm saying. I too tried going to the cheap way on numerous things on my car and I've pretty much wasted about $1500. I know better now.

DaveB,
If you're reading this post, in the comment referenced above you mention the big drops of the Teins/Sprints as a downside to overall quality -- does this decrease in quality have to do with only the size of the drop, or quality of the spring made by these two companies -- wondering, because the Tein H.Tech has a significantly lower drop of 1.6/1.0" (comparable to Progress/Eibach), and was wondering your opinion on that particular set. Thanks.

I dont belive Dave meant that Tein (the company/product) sucks- i think he was leaning to the fact that H&R/Eibach 's modest drops are due to their understanding of performance (as opposed to the S-techs which sell you a cosmetic drop.
I would imagine that the H-techs (due to the material of the spring(vanadium), the modest drop
and their marketing "luxury masters" are a good set of springs for our cars - taking the point of wheel travel which DaveB brought up into this
