Heated front seat switch bulbs

Hello People

I have a problem here. My switch for the heated seats goes into either high or low position, but no light. My bum does get warm, and I checked the fuse, so I guess the bulb burnt out. Does anyone know what kind of bulb it is, and how to change it? Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

Nick

Im not sure what kind of bulb it is, I have never opened that area up. It should be fairly easy to take that area apart. Youre talking about the green light , right , facing the shifter...?

No, the orange light, that actually turns on the heating, next to the seat, by the cup holder!!!!!

Oh yeah..its orange. ...my mistake
Im not sure. Did you check the manual ?
If not , go to any Nissan parts counter, and they will tell you.

No worries about the error, but I looked it up in the manual, all it says is to take it to Nissan for service. Frankly, I would rather do it myself! Only if I knew how to remove the casing around the emergency brake, maybe I could see what kind of bulb, in the morning!

happened to me and the service dept had to call nissan... they said "replace the whole switch" because the bulb is not replaceable.

...but someone around here said he frigged with it and got it open and did replace the bulb, so who knows.

if I was you I'd take it to them and have them do it. Even if it's not under warranty, just b!tch for a few minutes and they'll do it "as a favor" hoping you buy another car there (because a 20 cent lightbulb would sway my car buying habits )

From what I understand, that switch is sealed and you really cant take it apart to replace the bulb. But I have been led astray before.

To pull the console apart, you really end up taking the whole center console apart.

At the back of the console there are two screws on the side, by seatbelts. There is one on the bottom of storage bin under foam pad. 2 more screws are underneath the shifter bezel. I have a manual...so I just removed the screw under the ashtray/coin/crap holder. Pull the fuzzy thing out and you will see the screw. I then was able to tug (gently) the bezel off and two more screws are underneath. Then you just have to finagle the front to disconnect it from the center dash and it rotates away from the dash.
