My 01 se 5 speed seems to be lurching when i just let off the gas when i am still in gear. Then when i accelerate again it lurches forward. Is this normal or do i have a problem?

yup..it's the fuel cut problem...
one way to avoid this would be not taking your foot of the gas too fast but...our problem is nothing compare to ford contour...oh my god those cars suck....
