Another light thread...to answer several questions

I know there are alot of threads on this, but I'm trying to combine several quesitons on the same subject into one (a sticky? )...

Looking for some input/information/advice:
Have stock 2k headlights and they are not great, so would like to change the bulbs on both the high and low beams AND the driving lights/fogs.
Would appreciate any info on the following:

1. Assuming I just want to plug-in and go (no wiring harness upgrades, etc), what is the max recommended wattage for the Highs, Lows, and fogs?
2. Opinions on bulbs. They need to be LEGAL colors, I am not interested in getting ticketed for my headlights.
3. Can the specific color/type of bulb be used in highs, lows, and fogs (so they all match in color)?
4. Obviously price is a factor.....otherwise I would just get HIDs. So please don't reply "just get HIDs"....they are obviously preferable, but not affordable.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Silverstars are bright bulbs but still remain the stock color.... for both fogs and headlights

if u want a little brighter but whiter lights
PIAA super white is recommended...

u have a 2k so your high and low beam is the same bulb... if you're really just looking for brightness get silverstars.

2K uses 9003 (HB2, aka H4) which is a composite low/high beam. Foglights uses H3.

I think the headlights shouldn't be pushed beyond 75W or so (if I read my SilverStar label correctly, SilverStars actually run somewhere around there...??), and foglights I'm using 55W with no problem (stock=35W). They do run a little hot though, at least when I touch the plastic lens.

Definately get EUEODEZIGN headlights/foglights. ill tell you why. they cost $12, and they come with a lifetime warenty. one of mine burnt out so i sent that 1 light back and they sent me a pair for free.
and they are alot brighter than stock, and dont have that ricy blue like the civics. it more like a really bright white.

i have had PIAA, silverstars, and MTEC's

the silverstars lasted 4 months
the piaas lasted 7 months
the mtecs are going on 7 months

personally i think the PIAA had the most powerful high beam, but the MTEC has the best low beam. and in terms of $$, the mtec are the cheapest by far.

PIAA Xtreme Whites for both headlights and foglights. White lights which are brighter than OEM. No harness needed.

Silverstars

I have a 2K SE and just installed Silverstars yesterday on my main lights. There is a definite colour difference compared to the stock bulbs. The Silverstars are much whiter. I took some comparison pictures which I can email to you if you want to see how they look. For the money its not a bad deal but they'd better last more than 4 months or I'll be rather peeved. I'll probably replace the fogs at some point with Silverstars as well.
