APEX-I filter - When do you replace it?

I had my frankencar intake w/ APEX-I filter since my car was brand new (installed it the day i took deliviery of my 2k3).

It is now almost 1 year and 36,000 kms later, i am wonder when am i supposed to change this filter.

BTW.. my car has never seen the stock air intake box. I removed that almost immediately after i drove the car home. (since the intake was supposed to go on my 2002, but i crashed that).

Any ideas?

ED

Ed, I think you should be fine for a little longer (spring). If the filter is really black and looks dirty then I'd change it, if not keep it.

No it still looks pink, with some dirt... My oil is super clean with the 0w30 even with 6000kms on a 35,000kms motor, which is super surprising..

I am just concerned thats all, and those filteres are super hard to get.

BTW.. I am never using K&N on mycar.. NO OIL BASED filters for me

Been using oil based filters for over 5 years with no problems. Knock on wood!
