After installing the pop charger I noticed the check
engine soon light came on.
What could be the cause of that?
Followed directions..

Still outside looking for the prob.

Unplug your battery for a few hours to reset the ECU... hopefully you shouldn't see the light come on for a long time afterwards.

What is it about cone intakes and 5th Gens?

Well hopefully resetting the ECU should take care of it. If not, return the JWT Popcharger, put your stock airbox back on, and install the OSCAI conversion instead. You won't be sorry.

I never got the check engine light when I had my pop charger installed but I did get knocking and pinging!! Gotta love that. I'm OSCAI all day way now.

It's the MAF(Mass Airflow Sensor) guys, probably due to the increased air turbulance in the air flow. I've messed with one before and they are tempermental SOB's.

Hopefully, the disconnecting the battery works, but if not maybe their is another way to reset the ECU. I know the Sentra's had a screw on the side of the ECU after you uncovered it that could be used to check ECU codes and reset a check engine light.

Unplugging my battery did the trick... BUT......

Unplugging my battery did the trick...
hopefully I won't see the light come
again for a while anyway.

Also, you know the piece from the old
air box with the 4 holes in which bolts
go through... (Cylinder) Do you think it will be
a problem if a corner or screw hole
cracked off when swapping it to the new cone.
I only have 3 bolts on the cone but the
hole were the air passes is sealed.

This day has been a mess
I also stripped the allen key bolt on
the Courtesy FSTB. Hopefully ATV will
have a replacement bolt. Dont want to
wait for Courtesy to send one.
Not sure how I am going to get it out though.

Re: Unplugging my battery did the trick... BUT......

i have the same problem. light went on after the y-pipe. then again after the stillen intake. the light will go off after you 'reset' it w/ the batter disconnect, but will probably go back on. if you leave the engine light on and assuming it's the same problem, it should turn off after about 40 key cycles (for the max). of course, this does not necessarily mean the problem went away; it just means that the car assumes you don't want to take care of it, or it means that the sensor went dead (which in most cases is rare).

I did the same thing on the intake.. snapped one of the bolts. I ran 10k with my pop like that.. I had knocking and pinging which I'm sure was related to the pop charger itself not the missing bolt. You should be fine.
