Price on paint job

What is a reasonable price for getting my car paint changed from sterling silver to candy apple red. I am trying to get my car painted within the month. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris

I dunno but for a good paint job for a bumper it is a lot already. Well, more than $1,000. BTW, you sahould paint it white with a blue pearl tint.

well my dad owns a body shop and we do custom painting...candy apple red is not cheap. and if you want to do it right like paint the inside of the body and doors so when you open the door it wont be sterling mist. Youre looking at spending a good $3000-6000 depending on the shop. Candy apple is a very expensive color and hard to paint that requires many stages and the prep work isnt easy for an entire body color change. To be safe look to spend about $5000 if you want it done right.

click on PROFILE
then choose OPTIONS
scroll down DEFAULT POSTS PER THREAD
set to 40

then scroll back 2 or 3 pages. You'll find at least 4 other threads on this topic. And if you are really motivated you can look at the General forum, too and scroll back a page or two and see the 5 threads they have on this.

thanks,

1) Red paint is the most expensive color to make/buy.

2) It takes more of it to cover the car because it doesn't cover as well as most other colors do.

3) Pear is another big $$$ adder to paint, it's real pearl powder and it's expensive.

4) The pearl is a third step in the paint process making it a 3 stage paint which is another adder.

5) Candy colors are a completely different ball game and are very expensive!

Pricing of between 3 and 5 thousand bucks, if not more, is definately reasonable.
