Hey all. On my way home after work, get off to hit the streets, and notice something really weird with the car. The car feels extremely sluggish in 1st gear, pretty sluggish in 2nd gear, sluggish in 3rd, some ***** in 4th gear. With AT, you can usually let foot off brake, and it will roll off idle...well when I take my foot off the brake now, it moves along at Snaaaaaaails pace. No pickup whatsoever. I'm thinking MAF, Coils, etc, and am waiting for the predictable SES light, but it never came. Im like WTF?

When in Neutral, the engine whirrs without a problem (even in sub-zero temps), but the moment I drop it into gear, the car has NO getup. It's almost as though the trans is starting out from a stop in 3rd or 4th gear, no *****. A Mitsu Lancer 4cyl was successful in cutting me off at the light, I hit it, but it felt like I was in stabbing the throttle from 100+ mph, where it's a leisure acceleration, instead of the urgency in 1st gear that we have all grown accustomed to.

Oh, and as I swing into my garage, I put it in Reverse, and the motor just revs like if I had in Neutral. WTF? I had to get out and pull my car and steer, and drive into garage. How embarrasing!

BTW, had my car in for ATF service last week at a Nissan dealer, still have receipt.

I know to take it in tomorrow, but does this sound like anything serious???

 

Yes it sure does. Have you checked the tranny fluid level?
