5.5 Gen Turbo

Another great part about this turbo choice is: when the engine is built I won't have to upgrade the turbo. I didn't really notice when I hit full boost and it snowed yesterday so I will check it out and let you know. I think you are right though about hitting full boost at around 4500. We set it up to hit full boost between 3700 and 4500. And yes, fuel is my top priority right now.
The sun is up!! Hopefully the snow clears up soon, it sucks that it had to snow a day after I finished this. Oh well.

It is of course your car, but when you are going to up the boost and have all this top end to support your VI, the person next to you running a smaller turbo with quicker spool will have already pulled further ahead. Granted you will be able to play catch up, but who likes to have to watch people pull away from them and constantly have to try and catch back up?
My thing is, why not do a hybrid turbo, and just run higher boost. You can run 15-18psi on a t04e hybrid and put out around 500+ whp, but I highly doubt you will be anywhere near ready for that.
What psi are you running now?

Also remember that turbonetics does not warranty ball bearing turbos! If for what ever reason you have a problem w/your turbo, ball bearing turbos cannot be rebuilt... they have to be completely gutted and brand new parts need to be used$$$$ Check into it. Because turbos are not maintenance free and I knowyou would'nt want to have to pay for that thing AGAIN. this was one of my main reasons for not going BB.

His car is insane, but 350+ whp is difficult, if not damn near impossible to get to the ground with fwd. Our fwd platform is not the most optimal for drag racing, but that's not to say the VQ can't handle boost. Top end this car would go, but who races to 150mph?

His car is still gonna be faster than yours, so all you can do is weep that he got the turbo you never could..

You have to figure out the fuel issues though, especially with all that power up top..
Good luck and good work.

#2: I have spent probably 5x as much as he has on his car, and probably double what anyone has on this entire forum (if you really want to compare). I don't prance around this forum saying I spent this and I have done this, but when some dumbass opens his mouth, you get your up-and-comings. So that completely negates your comment of me not being able to afford some overpriced and oversized turbo.
There will always be faster cars, no matter what, and it has nothing to do with how much money or how big his turbo is; it's about practicallity and for those of us who know what we are talking about, his turbo choice was not the most practical. So when you can afford to upgrade from your cold air intake, come back and play newbie.

Getting this thing off the line is going to suck. You're going to have to be real careful with the go pedal because as it is stock, you have to work it because it's so easy to spin the tires if too much torque is applied. But after the tires hook up, B-BYE. Can't wait to see the track results for this badboy and hope people start regularly start turboing or SCing the 3.5.

I think Uncle Max spent up north of $10,000 just on the turbo system alone. It was also not a kit. It was all custom design/fabricated also.
The 3.5VQ already has torque up the ying/yang. IMHO, he can afford the later spool

I don't think he'll have that hard a time launching it, in all honesty. If the turbo doesn't start pulling hard until ~4500 RPM, then he's going to be just fine. in fact, he might be able to do two burnouts in first...
One at takeoff due to the engines already strong numbers, and another as soon as he starts on the boost.

SAdler not to get off topic but it seems that you amongst other ORG members know alot about turbo's. Seeing that IYHO this is not the optimal set up for the 33.5 what turbo would be better and why if you don't mind me asking?
