Best Exhaust? Help a Newb

Hi guys I'm a Newb. I was wondering about what would be the best exhaust for a 2k Maxima? I was thinking about getting a Greddy Evo2. I have some questions. 1. Do you guys get a check engine light when you take the cat off? 2. I heard that some cars run like crap when the ECU finds no cat. 3. Do I need to buy a Y pipe in addition to the full exhaust to get the max performance?4.! Does anyone have a greddy Exhaust and do you guys reccomend any others; like Frankencar? Thanks for reading. I tried to read the other posts to find answers but couldn't find any.

1. No
2. Not the Maxima
3. It would help, even more on a 2k-2k1
4. Greddy Evo and Frankencar are two of the best. Greddy will be a more throatier exhaust. Cattman also makes a good catback. Its also fairly quiet .
Hope this helps !

Go with the GReddy! Its very deep sounding. Also the y-pipe is a great mod even if you dont have a cat-back!

<----Greddy EVO 2 on the way

I like Cattman too, but the $599 price tag really got me down. Its more expansive then any other exhaust out there.

Ive heard them all. I personaly have a Warspseed B pipe, without a resonator, and a powertech muffler. I have a Custommaxima Staright pipe too. i wouldnt recommend my setup, simply because of the fitment issues with the Warspeed product. Its very poor , when it comes to fitment.

I think I'm going to get the Greddy Evo2 Wit the Cattman Y-pipe. I dont know that mutch about cars so my friends will help me put them on. As of right now my car is totally stock except an intake. Kc187; I saw an Evo2 exhaust on a Maxima, at the sears on the Intl. Speedway. It looks kick ***. Thanks for the additional feedback from all of you. Now all I have to do is save up some more $ and go mess with some Honda's.

kcgc187 I have a white 2000 maxima. It looks totally stock all I have to distinguish it is a Injen Licens plate that came with the intake. I'm assuming your a riddle student becasue of the planes or you just fly privately? We'll anyway I'm a Riddle student and if you are a student you should join the SCIC car club.

funny you say that, the news all over our junk and some MIB were all over because they thought that one of them did come from our school. turns out the jacker stole one of our students identity. the real guy turned himself in to the FBI and it was all cleared up.

Our school never had any terrorists train here. Its what 187 said; someone stole the identity of a student. Oh 187, How could you do it? How could you work for the man!? Just joking. I've seen your car. The white tail lights is what caused me to remember. I got my private and " Instrument" with team 5. Anyway; I'm thinking of racing "safely and not for money"my friends Acrua "honda" RSX . My car has it by the numbers except weight. Oh and I wonder how an Accord would do against the Max?
