Whose got the mud flaps?

Who on here has the nissan oem mudflaps. Do they work/look alright? With all the dust and mud around here, it is impossible to keep my car clean, and the first time i drive it after washing it there is mud and dirt caked on the side of my doors and rear quarterpanel from the tires flinging **** up! Go or no-go on this for me?

I have them. They don't stop it all, I would say maybe 1/2 of tire fling-schmegma is blocked, according to my very un-scientific eyeball estimate.

Personally, I like the way they look.

I've got them on my 01 SE. The don't stop all the mud but every little bit helps. Mine are black but I have seen some white 01s with the splash guards painted white to match the car. I've been thinking about painting mine.

Got them and everyone is right they catch someof the crud but not all. If you get them get the color matched ones, because the plain non-painted ones look like crap.

They look much cooler than they work, like everyone else said. Also mud and crap get caught in it and I have to remember hose it out cuz I'm a clean freak like that.

I can't find the color matched ones anywhere for the 00-01. I have seen them on some cars but I can't find any to purchase. Have you seen them?

Yes they look good especially good on the 02/03's, as they blend in with the side skirts and they are color matched. Most 02/03's I see have them and 00/01's dont.

i have them on on my 01 but the ting is that its not color coded so it looks pretty ugly in black...i'm hoping to paint it if i can my hands on some oem lookin paint...but they work nicely for me..especially through puddles the flaps prevent some of that nasty water getting up into the doors and windows...if you can get color coded flaps then definitely go for it...they look so much better with them on.

Don't buy 02/03 the front ones don't fit 00/01 I just found that out the hard way. I am just going to paint my front ones.

I have the same color as yours and they don't really work that well, especially with our car color (cause the dirt is most visible). I only had my front ones on for a month then I took them off and found residue underneath them. I need to clay it off in order for the discoloration to come off.

I just put mine on a month ago (Christmas) after not having them since I bought the car. In comparison to how dirty my car used to get, I say the mudflaps do a pretty good job. And they look cool

I have them on my 03 Se and they do look good. However, they serve no function. The ones on my 89 SE worked much better as they were longer (closer to the ground).

I have to agree with you. My first Max was an 89 SE. The 5th gens are more form than function.

Splash Guards

The cheapest i found are on : http://www.nissan-accessories.com/

b.t.w., these are called "splash guards".

I have put them on my '02, they help some. But I didn't want them to merely stop mud and dust, but road tar and road debris (rocks, stone etc). And they do look great!

They are different parts for 00-01 and 02-03. However, The rear kit for 00-01's will fit on 02-03 max's, but do not come with mounting clips/screws (00-01 Max's did not need the mounting hardware). Fronts are not universal at all with 00-01 and 02-03.

hope this helps.

I like the look, but you can see they didn't block any of the giant road salt that pummelled my paint last time I went skiing in the mountans....yes, those are CHIPS in the photo, not dirt (car was just washed). I am thinking about building some "custom" extensions for them to use during the winter. Oh, and the graeat OEM design holds snow and ice up in the wheelwell so it all piles up. Great engineering.

ya the buildup of ice and snow is annoying. I had to clear out the crap from them several times. It gets stuck real firm in the flaps.... but better on them than on my paint

I've had them on my car for 4 years and the sides of my car are chip free, but then again i don't go muddin or down gravel roads. Ignore the massive gap between the tires and fenders, i'm working on that

Bought them from the Nissan parts department just like in the picture. They are the pre-painted ones.

are these pretty much plug and play. you dont have to do any modifications to make them fit and they come with all the necessary hardware. plus they come already painted?

Are the colors slightly off since Glacier Pearl for 02/03 vs the 00/01 White is different, I notice the difference in various lighting conditions?

this is what i heard and it makes sense.

1. Your car is x amount of years older, which means it has faded some due to x factors.
2. The paint on the mud gaurd is new and it wont match the color of your body b/c it has faded.. but in time they will start to blend in nicer....
3. Pearl is the hardest color to match...

I have them on my AE. They are painted and very subtle and fit with the body kit. Look nice and help somewhat. Front is flat and doesn't collect road junk; back are not flat and collect crap that I clean out about every other wash. Splash guards are worth it IMO and aren't hard to install (not much clearance between the wheel and fender).

What I was saying is the Icleandic Pearl for 00/01 was different from 02/03 Glacier Pearl from the get go, not taking into consideration fade etc.
