Very sweet and clean, but how is it mounted? Its it only supported by the couplers? How deep is your growl?

the intake is relatively quiet at low rpms, but around 5000 it rips it up, an incredible growl. I installed my last week and had problems with two O2 sensors. I took it off and brought it to the dealership. Bryan help me out throughout. Can't wait to get it back on. Unfortunately though like you i am waiting for the MAF to go.

Well I have the Frankencar, and that cost me a mortgage payment. I wonder If I can recycle anything and just get the mounting setup.

What do you do with the sensor that is before the filter in your stock setup?

If u look in teh picture the MAF sensor or Air flow meter is installed directly after the K&N filter in the aftermarket intake

Anyone have problems with an O2 sensor failure after installing the Berk Intake. Happened to me and i was wondering if the intake was the cause or just a coincidence.

With these parts you'll begin to see the beauty of aluminum vs. mild steel like the other guy uses. The cost is 6x's (yes that's six times) more than steel but for the weight savings and corrosion resistance it is worth it in the long run. I only send out the brackets if the intake is going be be used with a Stillen/JWT pop charger, or Apexi filter because the weight will drag the unit down. But with a K&N filter the whole thing is light enought that it will hold it's own weight. There are lots of people that have had their Frankencar brackets break, the reason for this is that when the engine torques, it twists inside the engine bay. If you have a rigid bracket then it will snap. I've gone through all of the designs out there and have actually purchased every single intake out there and have seen what works and what doesn't. If you insist on the brackets, I can throw those in but you must asses the risk of the thing snapping on you.

Regards,
Bryan

I've got about 500+ miles on my intake since installation and no problems whatsoever. I'm very happy with this product and Bryan is doing some good work here.

It weighs next to nothing. It's not made of steel like the FrankenCar is and it stands very stiff. You don't need a brace with this setup. I still have the FrankenCar MAF adapter and Apexi installed. I just switched the couplers and midpipe. Berk is much nicer. It's also a tad shorter making it sit better in the engine bay.

The Berk is smaller than the FrankenCar and much, much lighter.

From the pic it seems like the filter rests against the body. I thought it would make sense to have some kind of enclousre around the filter to prevent it from being pressed againt any surface cutting off airflow.

My FrankenCar always struck my strut tower. Without the brace it sagged from the weight. With the Berk installed, It never hits the strut tower and sits higher in the engine bay. We are only talking an inch or two, but it made a huge difference in fitment. Also a side note. This makes no sense at all, but since I installed the Berk, I have had absolutely no pinging whatsoever. When the FrankenCar was installed, my car always pinged. The only thing I can think of is maybe the old Apexi filter was dirty and making the car run too lean. I don't know. The filter doesn't apear very dirty. I did install a new Apexi on with the Berk and will clean and reuse the old one.

i put mine on sunday.it was soo light i left the bracket off.it took a little adjusting so the filter doesnt touch anything but has enough clearence on both sides!280 miles so far and very happy.the pics of my intake are in this thread.and i already cleaned my engine compartment!
