I don't know if anyone else noticed, but yesterday when I was getting ready to drive my car, I just took a look down at the pedals, because the inside of my right foot was rubbing the brake pedal. Does anyone else think that the accelerator pedal and the brake pedal are a little close together in 5th Gens?

Prior to getting my Maxima, I owned a '93 Honda Civic 5 sp. Never encountered this problem. Any thoughts are appreciated.

It's slightly possible that they did that so people can "heel-toe" shift... just a thought.

I think the distance is reasonable on my (dad's) auto.

On my talon, the brake pedal and accelerator is only about 0.5" apart. So when I brake really hard, I have all three pedals pushed (gas pedal pushed accidentally).

I found them way too far apart on my 5spd so I added some pedal covers so I could heel n toe with my size 12s.

I agree OnyxMaximus. I think the pedals are a little close together. Sometimes my shoe gets caught on the back of the brake pedal and my foot stays on the gas. Not good.
