floaty feel

I never felt my GLE is floaty. I dont have much to compare it to, other than an 01 Silverado HD tho... or a camry. Might be floaty compared to a bimmer, I think its all about what you're used to or what you expect it to feel like
I have a 2000 SE, and while I was driving at high speeds (I'll give you a guess it has the numbers 1 4 and 0 in it). I went over a few bridges and I thought it was somewhat floaty. Although a lot of my comparisons are against a Porsche so it's not really a fair comparison as the Porsche has much better... well everything. I've heard that changing the springs/struts really helps though.

I hate the stock suspension on my GLE. When I go high speeds (70-80)over a little hump while on a bend in the highway, the car feels all hoppy after it "lands". Makes me feel like I'm going to lose control. Can't wait to upgrade it.
If you are doing 410 MPH I really want a pic of your speedo!!!!
I too got that floaty feel with my stock suspension, even at lower speeds...a RSB and new suspension really help BUT and this is a huge one, even bigger then J-Lo's , at the speed you mentioned I would say do NOT do that on a road where you have bridges, curves or humps that would make your suspension lift up. As good as our vehicles are you still have a basic wing shape. Curved over the top and flat on the bottom, and past a certain speed (god only knows what it is), you are going to start creating more lift then downforce. Going over a bridge or whatever will lift your car up, allowing more air underneath. It might not be as drastic as in NASCAR or Indy, where the car lifts up and flips over, but you might get into a situation where your steering becomes ineffective.
The Audi TT is a great example of this, the first version were limited to 110 because of more lift then downforce and ill handling at high speeds. A spolier and electronic stability control were added to reduce that.
This is just a recommendation, I just want to keep all our great cars in one piece and the drivers too. 140 mph = 205 feet per second.

I think you're right on, from what i've felt thats pretty accurate.
Can't wait to get a RSB this spring.
I usually cruise around 75-80mph on the freeway (just barely keeping up with traffic) and my car feels sloppy at those speeds when the road gets rough. The rear is the worst. I live in the Bay area and at the 680/24 split headed north there is this small dip in the road on a turn that really upsets the suspension. My car has this sway and bounce in two different directions. My last car (94 Acura Integra RS 5spd) had a suspension kit and was very tight at speeds up to and beyond 100mph around that same dip in the road. I heard the rear sway bar is one of the biggest bang for your buck and one of the most important mods we can make on our cars for safety.
