Headlight Socket Toasted ! Need Help

My 2k Max headlight socket got toasted with the high wattage bulbs . I got some APC replacement sockets, does anyone have any idea or any diagrams so I can properly rewire them. Ive been mixing and matching and got it rewired to high beam only . The APC socket came with 3 wires black, blue, and white. I believe the original wires from the Max was orange, black, and green. Thanks.

Sorry cant help with the wiring, but what bulbs did you use? The car manual and bulbs instructions clearly state not to use higher wattage than the maximum allowed.

Brand name has ALOT to do w/ it. I've been using PIAAs (higher wattage) for over 3 years on my other cars. No problem. When I put no namer on my friends car, entire harness melted. Bulb costed half of PIAAs.

APC bulbs are crap anyways.

When I replaced my old harness, I removed the cover of the old harness on the back and matched the wires on the new harness. If your stock one is toasted maybe you can look at the other side and eye ball it. The harness is in a "T" shape you should be able to see which wire goes to which contact. Good luck compare the two harnesses and you'll be ok!

Once again it doesnt matter what BRAND . If your harness and socket cannot handle the recommended wattage the socket will melt eventually. I had my APC's for 4 years before it melted because it was 90/100, not because it was "crap" APC.

Your APC burned your harness. My PIAAs didn't

High wattage bulbs will eventually melt your plugs. Doesnt matter what brand. Had mine for 4 years before it melted. I was running 110/130 watts too which is hella high. now i switched to real HIDs

What I did was use a meter and check to see on the other socket which is your low, high and ground. If you've got the socket the way the bulb sits in the housing, then the very right plug is the ground. Then the top plug is the low beam and the left is the high beam. Not sure of colors I've got it all taped up and can't see. Try a meter and test each wire. It took over a year and a half for mine to burn out. The light continously went on and off. When I looked at the harness it crumbled in my hand. Huge fire hazard, but it's taken care of now.
