2k3 maxima with non-bose factory hU and ipod

I just got a 20 gig Ipod. I also have a 2k3 maxima with non-bose factory hU. Is there anyway to somehow directly connect the Ipod to the HU , while still keeping the IPOD portable. Like To somehow get a wire to run out somewhere where I can plug into the HU. Right now I am using a tape adaptor and a belkin tunedok in the cupholder. I tried the wireless FM transmitters(Belkin one and itrip) and they seem to not work good in my area(central jersey) due to the fact the airwaves are filled up already.
thanks
adam

Perhaps there's a way to make an adapter to allow him to hook up the ipod to the CD changer input?
