best launch times
With a auto '00 GLE, is there a way without harming the to get a good launch? I swear if I floor it, the wheels chirp (the stock 16in)and I go. If I hold the break down and floor it, it doesn't seem to go higher in the rpm, and it chirps just the same. I know dropping it into drive is not good, so whats left thats safe?
Without potentially harming it? Not really. A trick that MAY work is accelerating about half throttle until about 5 m-10 mph, then flooring it. Good initial response without the wheelspin. If you want good launch control, get an manual transmission.
I agree with medicsonic... Mashing on the pedal will get you wheelspin, and then evil physics stuff begins to happen (related to the chemistry of your tires, and the friction between them and the road) etc..
You should accelerate AS FAST as you can WITHOUT spinning the tires... (how do you do that??? well, it takes practice!!!)
You can also manually shift your automatic transmission, but I'm fairly certain you're hurting your transmission in some way....

When you brake torque (stepping on the brake and the accelerator), make sure you don't keep it going for too long. Go up to 1500 while doing this and let off the brake... while doing this apply about 1/2 to 3/4 throttle. If you stomp of the gas, you'll spin. All you have to do is make sure your tires grip... then stomp.
Try playing at different RPMs, because 1500 is where I get good launches. You can probably go higher if you have sticky tires.
