I was sitting at a light today and with my foot on brake, not the gas pedal, the throttle surged to 1500rpm to the point I really had to press on the brake to keep the car from lunging into the car in front of me. I hadn't turned anything on and the car was warmed up. Has anyone had this happen, should I expect it again? Should I take it to crappy dealer? Any help or input would be great.

 

Wow that sounds kinda scary! Never had that happen to me . Are you sure your foot wasn't pressing on both pedals, I've done that on accident before.

 

Yea I am sure where my feet were, I am an aircraft mechanic, not a saturday mechanic. I am pretty competent when it comes to mechanical stuff. But thanks for the reply.

 

Well lets hope that was a freak event and not some problem with our cars.

Take it to the dealer ASAP, This sounds like a Drive-By-Wire issue.... and may cause a serious accident.
