i'm going to buy my Max in two weeks and is thinking of getting a radar/laser detector, any recommendation? i had one b4 but the one i had stunk worst than a skunk.....so i want a really good one. what brand and model do you think is the best one to get? BTW, i want one for about 200 dollars and nothing more....so keep the price in mind when u think it's a good one, thanx.

 

I'm about to buy a Bel 980... costs around $220 and it always tests near the top in radar comparisons. Other very good ones are the V1 or Escort Passport 8500, but both are around $300.

 

Isn't there a V2 coming out anytime soon?

 

It's practically the same as the 980 and costs about $180. I road tested the Bel 980 for a month. It was a good detector.
