Head Light Repair ?'s

I have a 2003 Maxima and my right head light is scratched up pretty bad on the outside plastic lense. My question is this. I have read that the 2002-2003 HID lights are a direct fit for the 2000-2001 non hid lights. Is this cirrect ?

If so can I simply find a 2000-2001 head light and take the plastic lense of and replace my scratched up lense with that. I mean it will be a lot cheaper to find the Non-Hid lamp than the HID. So if that works it would be awesome.

Let me know what you guys think.

Then wouldn't there be fitment issues when installing the 02-03's into a 00-01 ?

the 02-03 light into an 00-01 bumper is tight....similiarly the 00-01 light into an 02-03 bumper leaves a gap at the bottom

Before you do anything. Try polishing the scratches out with 3M plastic polish. I had a few deep scratches that I removed with polish. You have to use A LOT of elbow grease but it should work.

Explain why? Who cares? It won't work b/c the clear plastic lens is shaped differently so why you wanna debate over a couple mm in height?

Take off that fugly grill and then quote me...

Easy Gents I appreciate all the replies. I will try the 3M Plastic Polish and then if that doesn't work I will try and locate a single HID head light I guess. Anywho. Thanks Again !!

i'll take my grill off when:

a) you realize the housings aren't interchangeable

b) you take off those fugly pieces of plastic you call eyelids

Try using polishing compound. My 01 had a hazy look. I tried Mequire's plastic polish but it wasn't strong enough. I used the polishing compound on them and now they look like glass.

NO

Don't read anyones posts, why? Because I just went through this.

Notice Before:

AFTER:

What you need is:

-1500 grit sand paper
-high speed buffer
-buffing compound
-plastic polish

What you do is you wet sand the headlight untill the scratches are gone. After you dry the headlight you will see that it fogs up. Then you need to buff it like no joke and within mins. ur headlight will look better than new again. After the buffing, use some plastic polish and whala

Any questions, feel free to ask.

No problem, this is also great for removing rock chips and scuffs on the headlight. All of mine came out.

a) For the SECOND time, maybe they are different size. Regardless, my original point is still valid. Don't need your monkey a$$ trying to talk to me.

b) When I do install the eyelids, they'll either be painted fiberglass or CF

For someone with PIMP in their description, those are some nice rims. They go great with the that beautiful grille. What type of cheese grater is that thing made from?

(It's nice to finally get to talk **** to u after seeing u run your stupida$$ mouth all over the damn place)

sorry to bring this totally OT but I would like to address Mr. fugly eyelid ricer boy:

1) those are 16's, winter stock for those of us unfortunate enough to have to live in a climate that isn't always sunny and perky out-they are coupled with Continental snow tires that handle EXCELLENT in the snow

2) rest assured that in a couple weeks I will have my forged chrome BBS rims on there (which by coincidently still cost more and look better than your heavy a$$ fugly 19's)

1) Yup, Seattle has great weather year round. (sunny and perky? )

2) Sorry, still can't get over the grille. You should finish it off with some nice chrome fender trim. At least the hideousness deters potential HID thieves I guess?

This is ridiculous. I think I started it anyways, so I'm done if you are.
