What is the best air filter

I have an Injen intake and want to change the air filter. What is the best filter for my type of intake? Does Apexi make a filter that will fit an Injen intake?

any 3 inch inlet K&N, apexi makes it but you need adapters and apexi's are $$$$ and not reusable

K&N is the best. Pep Boys has them for $5 off any filter.

I like my Apexi. But, it's a filter - can i really tell the difference? Probably not. I just like it bc it's not oiled. can't say it works better or worse than any other filter.

Seriously, there was an article comparing a few air filters using a vacuum cleaner to suck the air. Apexi came up on top, followed by K&N, I think.

I recently installed my new Berk intake and have the K&N, but have heard lots of positive comments about the JWT (Jim Wolfe Technology) filters. Might upgrade to this filter shortly.

As recommended by some of the members here, I bought the K&N, RU-2820 to replace the Injen's filter. I recently had it installed and noticed a slight improvement in performance. It is bigger than the Injen filter and also much cheaper compare to the Apexi...thus a reuseable filter.

I got mine from here:

I have the K&N RU-2820's in stock as well as the Apexi filters. Either one would work.

K&N's- $34.95 shipped
Apexi with filter adaptor kit in red, blue, or black - $99.95 shipped.

Jim wolfe uses K&N's. Apexi is without a doubt the best all around filter available for high end intakes. K&N uses lower quality standard tests that test larger particulate sizes to show good filtering ability. That said, K&N are very well made filters, but they aren't as nice as the Apexi. I have both. Although in many tests/reviews, show the Apexi gaining 1-2 more hp than K&N, it's not noticeable in the real world. I will say the Apexi has a much better sound compared to my K&N. Your choice is a tough one. With the filter being so close to the ground, dirt filtration is very important so immediately the Apexi stands out. On the other hand, being so close to the ground you'll have to change or clean the filter more frequently and the K&N wins this category hands down. Pick your poison. You could try the K&N for a while and get oil analysis done to show if filtration of the K&N is adequate.

Is this a new promotion? Is it still going on? My wife needs one for her Forester XT.

same basic principle but the difference is superior product, price and customer service. if those are important then go with berk.

Not quite, with Berk you will actually get your intake before you get rid of your car.

One thing they didn't test was that K&N filtering properties get better as the filter gets dirtier. Not sure how much airflow would be affected.
