ECU question auto vs manual

Hey guys. i was wondering if anyone knew of a possible way to flash a automatic 2k2 ecu over to a 6-speed ecu. Is it easy? possible? if so how? this is a rarely talked about subject so any input will be greatly appreciated

Why would you want to do that in the first place?

Does anyone have any ideas? Is the ecu switchable by chance? Just getting a bump here

i doubt it. ECU has different programs such as traction control and different sensors.

Don't know for sure, but there are LOTS of different ECU part
numbers per model year. Just take a look at any TSB that
mentions the ECU. You'd think they'd be the same h/w but with
different s/w, but ...

Could. flashing it with the current manual tranny engine data work with the consult II?

I don't think it's possible. I went to get an ECU reprogrammed and installed into my auto (it was from a manual) and the dealership said it wasn't possible.

The ECUs are not interchangable, even with a flash. Even more so, the ECUs between years are not interchangable either, unless you have a dealer (or TS) reprogram the keys to the new unit.

There are different ECUs for each year, as well as each option (or combination thereof) for the car. Some of the combinations are:

2002 M/T - No LSD
2002 M/T - With LSD
2003 M/T - No LSD
2003 M/T - With LSD
2002 A/T - No TCS
2002 A/T - With TCS
2003 A/T - No TCS
2003 A/T - With TCS

... and that's only listing the year, tranny, and LSD/TCS options. I know for a fact that there are more options listed in the Nissan parts CD, I just haven't looked them all up.

Do you still have this ecu by chance? and is it from a 2k2?
