Berk Intake + Apexi Filter Install Question

I'm not too much of an idiot, but for those who have this setup -- how in the H3LL did you get the silicone hose over the Apexi adaptor - it slips right onto the aluminum MAF adaptor but the other side will not fit over the thick metal of the Apexi adaptor -- I even tried microwaving it for a minute to heat it up, and that did not work either - any suggestions are appeciated!

Thanks in advance.

that is a major pain in the butt. i have the exact same setup and just put some grease on the inside of the coupler. you might to try some oil or chapstick if you dont have that. just a little though.

Cool, but how did you stretch it to fit it over the Apexi adaptor? I can get about 5/8 of the coupler over the adaptor, but trying to stretch the rest to fit over it is almost impossible! Thanks

like i said, grease and then it helps that i workout everyday. lol. i know what you are going through though. it was a b1tch to get that on and the one that goes on the MAF tube.

make sure you have the right couplers in the right spot.

I just got my Berk silicone couplers today. 1 is shorter than the other 2. Where does the short one go?

From the picture I would say the short one goes all the way to the left, the longer one would go on the right and then the smaller--->bigger coupler goes in the middle. Is this correct redstratic?

Bryan just informed me that the smallest one goes to the Apexi filter and the longer ones attach directly to the midpipe from both sides.

Bryan's sending me a new adaptor -- apparently the genuine Apexi one he sent me is 3.25" on the outside (probably why the 3" coupler wouldn't fit on, I even lifted weights a few times this evening and then tried to get it on! ) -- he has a different adapter that he is sending me that will definitely fit, another example of how Bryan is committed to his customers! Thanks for all of the help guys, I definitely appreciate it! Hopefully it'll be above 50 degrees again soon so I can take another crack at installing this bad boy

Holy Mary mother of God was it a pain in the ars to get those silicone couplers on both the MAF and the Intake Manifold. Good new is that KY Jelly can be used for things other than sex I tried a flat head screwdriver after heating it up for 1 minute and it started to dig into the plastic MAF. I had my wife hold the MAF while I twisted and it finally went on. It's not coming off! I tried like the ****ens to get it on the intake manifold without success. I knew it was going to be hard as the FrankenCraps were, but the FrankenCraps weren't this hard. I didn't have any chapstick or vaseline, but I did have a 2 year old tube of KY. I put just a tad on the end, inside and out and it went on somewhat easy.

In the Group Deal forum. You better jump on it immediately. Although, as mentioned it won't give you any more hp than the FrankenCar, it just looks alot better. Berk has the Apexi filter at an awesome price.
