heated mirror switch

Anyone here with the heated mirror option on their car? Is the switch the same as the rear deffoger switch? I'm planning on installing this on my car , the correct way $224. each from the dealer, but the stupid parts guy doesn't know if there is supposed to be a separate switch or not.Someone please advise

That's my question I want to know if it's automatic with the rear window defogger switch, or if it's a separate switch.

I still have window sticker from the dealership lot and I have heated side mirrors but I've never seen a switch. Now I think about it, I don't remember having ice or snow build up on my side mirrors

When you turn the rear defog/defrost on it also turns on the heated mirrors.

Before you go spending all that money on the mirrors, do it the .org way. There's a thread (that you can search for) that tells you what parts to get (2 mirrors and a relay) and you can do it yourself for under $100.

Yes I've seen it but when it comes to electrical modifications, I'd rather do it the right way if you know what i mean. There's going to be no jimmy rigging in my car when it comes to electrical items. My dealer parts store that they could'nt order the heater elements separately anyways.

You want plug and play. I would rather do it that way also. I'm not always looking for the cheapest route.

Just bc the dealer "says" it, doesn't make it true. I would get in touch with DaveB and see if that's true. Why would the dealer want to sell you inexpensive heating elements if they could sell you whole new mirrors and then charge more for electrical/installation....

And yes, the heated mirrors on mine come on when you flip the rear defrost switch...
