Chaning Break Rotors

Since I can't search. Is there a threat or can someone tell me how hard is it to change front disc rotors on a 2001 maxima. I ordering the slotted rotors do I need new break pads and will my break pads wear out faster because of the slotted rotor???? Is there anything else I need to change other than the rotors THANKS.....

Take the wheel off, then remove the two large bolts where the caliper attaches to the control arm. I cant remember off the top of my head, but I believe they are 19mm Bolts. Once those are off, you can slide the whole caliper and its bracket off the rotor. Then pull the rotor off. Put the new one on, and put the caliper back on and bolt it back up.

This is litterally a 15min job.

Changing the brakes and pads may take a total of an hour. Once you get the wheel off, the rest is common sense.

You should either change pads too or sand the friction surface of the old ones (lay a piece of 40-80 grit paper on a flat surface and rub the pads on it). Yes, wear will be slightly faster but not as bad as drilled.

Can anyone recommend a reputable site where I can purchase good aftermarket rotors for an '02? Time to replace warped rotors with something better without breaking the bank. Thanks!
