Clock Dimming?

I know i've read somewhere about this...but now i can't find it for the life of me!
Can someone post a write up?

My 2k2's clock on the dash dims when i turn the lights on, well i want that to stop. Can someone help, thanks!

I thought it was supposed to do that...

I do not know of a "fix" for it, but if I thought hard enough, I would say find a ground/power source somewhere in the dash that is not linked to to the rest of the dash lights...

I did it on my '01. Pop your clock out and ther is a wire with a stripe on it. I disconnected that out of the wire harness and that did it. PM Me and I willl check which color wire it was in the morning.

What about the dimmer? If you turn it past the detent don't the lights stay bright all the time??? I know the stereo and environmental lights do, I would assume the clock does also
