Anyone with a 2k2-2k3 with Cattman Y & B pipes?

Just trying to get a feel for users with both Y & B pipes and if its worth the $$$

I am at a loss right now in determining if its worth the expense or should I just go cattman y alone??

thanx guys

I'm thinking a competent muffler shop could duplicate the oem b-pipe to be a little more (or less) restrictive, and make it out of stainless steel. From what I understand the oem b-pipe has a "crushed" section which limits exhaust gases from cat to rear muffler section. By remedying this problem, you can apparently get performance gains. Since Im going with intake/cattman y-pipe, I will definitely be looking to get the b-pipe replaced too if needed.

I will say one thing, $275 for the cattman b-pipe seems too expensive considering you can get his y-pipe for $325...

Budget makes b-pipes I believe. Can anybody else add anything to this thread?

I am also interested in the B & Y.
I haven't researched much but, $600 is a bit much for both.
Maybe not so much. I'll try to save money for this ****.

I just got the Cattman Y-pipe on last Thursday. I dynoed 206 hp and 216 tq on Saturday. Only 2 days apart. I've heard that full gains aren't apparent until after about 100 to 200 miles after you've installed the Y-pipe. I'm auto so I think that's pretty decent. I did not have a chance to reset the ECU yet and I'll have to see if that changes anything on the butt dyno.

looslip: you have just the y-pipe and frankencar intake on for performance stuff? puttin down 206 is pretty decent if so, thats around 257 hp to the crank (w/20% loss) so you'd be gaining around 17 over stock... thats good, enough to make me wantt the y-pipe too

Oh man, Im excited fellas. That's what Im doing too, the berk intake (fc clone) and the cattman y-pipe. My Max is running real healthy right now too. I can't wait to run it with this set-up. Less than 30 days until I get to run my ride for the first time this Spring.

True crank tq rating would be 270 lb/ft with your combo. NT2SHBBY!!!

It works great and the sound is not to loud to get the best results you need to re-set the ecu

I dynoed it maybe 40 miles after it got installed and I didn't reset the ECU yet. It might improve after I do those things. I have noticed the max getting louder since the dyno so my senses are telling I'm going faster. I'll have to reset and see what happens from there. I hope I reach 230whp! That would be bytchin'

I probably won't dyno for a while tho. Next mod, TS ECU!!

you need to look at the complete band of the dyno and look more for what it dose in the lower range not jest the peak power and use a wideband to see what your air fuel is doing

My A/F seems kinda rich. Anybody have any comments on that? The ECU should help, I think.

I have not had a chance to re-dyno since adding the Cattman Y and catback exhaust. I did the catback first and noticed a good increase in power across all rpm's. Tha't's what you get by removing two crush bends on either side of the resonator in the stock b pipe.

About a week later, I added the Y and now I am still suprised at just how quick the car gets up through the rpm's. I would definitely recommend getting the B pipe.

Can anybody post pictures of the oem b-pipe, and an aftermarket b-pipe?? Ripper alluded to the "crush bends" on either side of the resonator on the stock b-pipe, and it looks like he resolved this by going complete cat-back exhaust. For us who want to just replace the b-pipe, this is a do-it yourself thing, or what? I think Budget makes a replacement b-pipe, anybody know the price?

FWIW - I should've called it "flattened piping" instead of "crush bends" but you get the idea

Compared to a stock 6spd 205-206whp 220-225wtq, a 12whp and 2-3wtq gain with the help of intake and bpipe is very impressive. good to know that you didn't suffer a loss of tq.

So I guess it's no joke when they going am intake, y and b pipe will open up breathing, huh?! No reason why adding a ypipe to the mix on the above dyno wouldn't have yielded another 8-10whp and 5wtq, on that day.

Im getting my car (bone stock auto) dynoed next Friday at a dynojet facility. I will put my order in for the berk (FC Clone) and the catt ypipe in tomorrow. I will have my car re-dynoed after I reset the ecu and drive it hard for a bit.

Oh yeah, Im doing the NICO meet in KY on March 20th, so I will visit a Mustang dyno there as well, and will be hitting the strip.

We will see how real the results are !
