I can't believe the light melted the socket!!! I have the apc lights, and it melted the socket down to nothing, and now my passenger light dosent work!!! I called the dealer and explained...and he said that the part would cost about 700 $$!! Is this right? Does anyone know where I could get the apc wiring harness and about how much it costs?? Will this solve the problem???!!! I wanna shoot myself!!!!
Someone please help!!!Anything will help!!! Thanks!!

if you melted the clear plastic thing in front of the bulb that surrounds it those run about $110 each and if you melted the wiring that only runs i think somewhere around $50 for the pair of wires...what wattage bulbs are you using? if you have the apc harnesses you most likely installed them wrong...how long were you running these before this happened?

4 Months

I had them on for about 4 months and what melted was the socket that goes plugged into the light... the plastic piece. I keep the lights on all the time. And basically they told me that they don't just sell the plastic piece, they sell the whole harness. The plastic piece and the wiring to the electrical system. one piece.700 bills!!! They are the H4 bulbs or whatever the stock bulb is... If it comes down to it, Ill go steal one... or find some junked maxima... this bites!!!

checkout www.copartfinder.com and see if there is anything in your area...or you can just order them from www.autodynamic.com for under $100

I doubt you have to pay $700 to change the harness... dealers like to take advantage of people like that. I suggest buying a new harness (whether from junkyard or Nissan) and fix it yourself.

After you fix the problem, use $600 bucks and buy yourself some nice mods.

All you gotta do is go to NAPA or whatever local auto store you have and get an H4 headlight harness (it's just the socket with about 6 inches of wire), i've gotten one for my 9004s, so i'm positive they have it for your size too. It cost me $8. Then solder the wires and you're good, just learn your lesson and put stock wattage bulbs in, or get an upgrade wiring harness from APC.
