Cattman headers for 2k2+?
Cattman headers for 2k2+?
I was just on southwest autoworks website and they have Cattman HEADERS listed for the 2000-2003 maxima. Is this true? Price: $745.
Anyone order these? I know about their y-pipe, but this is news to me. I can't find any info on Cattman's website either.

Paper gaskets?

Are the Cattman headers SS and if so does that imply that they are a thicker gauge steel than the HS headers? What I'm really getting at here is, can I expect that Cattman headers to be quieter than the HS headers?

You made it sound like they didn't come with gaskets...which suprised me, because I also heard they don't come with directions or O2 sensor holes (or even a note one where to put em). I was just scared that I was really getting a bare bones header. I'm glad they come with gaskets...saves me time.
Yeah I just read a reply of yours in another thread about the quality of the gaskets they supply. The cattman ones look nice and beefy... Is there any way to just go to an auto parts store and pick up a better gasket? How about Nissan itself? The 350Z should be the same, right?

No one knows...there have been no dynos of the headers yet...for Hotshot or Cattman (I'm assuming). Everyone believes the Hotshot will make 20+ because they made 20+ on the Altima. I have no info on the Cattman...I didn't even know they existed until a few days ago.
Cattman's headers

Stillen's headers

Hotshot's headers

If you look at the above pics, you can clearly see that both Stillen's and Cattman's have a similar design except for the y-pipe area. It's plain to see that both of them are shorty headers which don't make any power, which has been proven by Studman, Willse, Juice, and me. On the other hand, if you look at Hotshot's pic you can see they're long tube headers which we know from the Altima 's guys that this design is superior. The long tube design has been yeilding anywhere from 21whp to as much as 30whp. Where Stillen's design made between 1-3 whp. In my opinion, Hotshot is no doubt the way to go, price wise and performance wise, hands down.

Thats the first time I've seen the headers side by side... didnt realize there was such a drastic difference in the tube length of the headers! Definatly cant wait to see the first Maxima dyno with Hotshot headers.

Nice comparison. I agree, but it does seem that the Cattman tubes are a little longer than Stillens.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't unequal length runners the main problem for the Stillens? It seems like the Cattman runners are much more equal, although shorter than the HS...any experts care to clear this up?
