my 01 auto v.s. my friends 02 auto.....

we raced from 80 to about 120 and he did not pull on me nor did i pull on him, very even.but, my car has some mods(see sig) his is all stock. we actually raced from a roll 30 to say 70 and he bearly pulled on me. i did better on highway! not bad for the 3.0l...........and he told me afterwards my car was fast, he was floored at both times..............

Way to keep up with the bigger engine, 1/2 liter of displacement is A LOT in terms of performance,

man...if you had stick you would have wasted him on the highway at least.

2k/2k1 got sick top end power especially with stick when combined with an intake and exahust

The Y-pipe transforms the VQ-K on the highway or anywhere above 5,200rpms. I remember my run hwy run with an 04 GTP...Its just to bad that I didn't have my car long enough to try running a 2k2-2k3.

does the Y-pipe do as much for the 3.5 as it does for the 3.0?

I've squashed a few 4th and 3.0 5th gens up to 60. I'm curious about the highway runs but it sounds like some heavy rationalizing going on by a few 3.0 guys. Still love the 3.0, though, but love the 3.5 more!

I have destroyed several 00/ 01 auto's and 95-99 's from a dig and on the highway(a few members here), the ones from a stop werent pretty. They did'nt do as bad from a roll but I still pulled them and did up to 110 mph. I even had a 97-99 one try to run me in my 350 auto. I still havenot sen a good run between a 00/01 auto vs a 95-99 auto I would like to see that.

The only 3.5 maximas up here are driven by old farts so I haven't had a chance to run one.

Ya, what did happen with the GTP? I've been anxious to run with one of those, they are supposed have some nice power.

Ran a 6spd 04 Max on the highway with my fully moded 01 5spd GXE (everything but headers and Cams)... I instantly got him from a 40MPH onramp race.... I was in 2nd when we punched it- I shut it down at 120 with *good* 6 cars on him... I wanted to get away from that fuggly *** thing.

hmm I can't recall much from the race, just that I had an FC Intake+Y-pipe.

I was getting on the highway flooring it off the ramp (its a downhill one) and as soon as I reached near the bottom, I noticed a black GP (I thought at first was a 04 GT since I 'though' GTP badge's were still on the side) I noticed that he was getting on his gas also but I wasn't sure if he was racing. I get behind the GP, still had it floored (by now I was going 95mph) and was still pacing the GP. As I reached 110-ish mph I start to slowly reel the black GP in, SAW the 'GTP' badge on the rear trunk lid, proceeded to ever so slowly pass him now going about 125mph and then I guess he got on his brakes. I guess it was a so-called race, but none of us started at the same time, and it took me about 80-125mph before I actually made ground (I was about 1-1.5 cars behind him and ended up with him being near my rear passenger door)

that is about the safest bet around. i want to run some of these 2k2 autos that you all are talking about because the only one around me is blubyu2k2 and its not even a contest even before most of his mods.

I raced my friend's 2k2 auto and it was dead even. IT was from a dead stop to about 80. I have a 5spd 2k1 and I was actually edging him until like 50 or so and then around 80 he started to pull on me. It was a close race to about 80 and i was impressed with my car. I only mod I have is the gab for performance....and that not really a mod...

that is pretty good considering one guy ran a 14.3@ 96 in a stock 6spd 04 already. i realize it was a highway run but if you have 6 cars then you must be trapping around 100 then.

Yea I mean doesn't it suck to need every bolt on available to be able to hang with a stock Auto 3.5
