Need advice on buying a 2002 SE 6spd

Hello all,

I've been a maxima.org member for a while. I'm on my second maxima now. I have a 99 SE auto with 60K. I'm thinking about selling it and purchasing a 2002 SE 6spd with 16K miles. I can get it for $14,000. I ran a consumer guide report (like carfax) and it only found one problem. It should up as a rental/fleet. However, the owner showed me a carfax where it showed up as a lease car.

There are a few big key marks on the right hand side that the owner will have fixed. He didn't repaint because he didn't want propective buyers to think the car was wrecked. What do you guys think?

Thanks in advance for your feedback!!

Ya..that's why on my original post i mentioned that consumerguides classified it as a fleet/rental and carfax only classified it as a lease. But you have a good point because rentals companies usually don't offer manuals out of fear that people abuse the crap out of them.

seriously, it sounds like a great deal. You have plenty of warr. left and you can call 1-800-nissan1 to see if all recall stuff is done. If it checks out you should buy it and enjoy the 6 speed!!

well i know after september 11th. the use of rental cars skyrocketed. My cousin works at a buick dealership and a rental car company. i think avis bought every car they had after that. and I mean every car. But i'd have to agree and say it's probably a lease. Ask they guy who's selling the car who owned it before.
