WOOHOO!! My tranny is splipping!

Well, I took my car in for 7500 mile service. I told them about the slow-shifitng tranny and mentioned the TSB in passing. I just got a call from the dealer, and they said it is slipping and they will fix it per the new TSB. No problems what so ever in convincing them. I didnt't even have to ride with the technician to prove it. Hopefully now, the shifting will be much better. Are the results that significant? Down side is that I will drive a rental until the parts come in

Good for you. I guess they will overnight the parts? They gave me a Ford Escort to drive. I couldn't wait for my car to be fixed!

It's at the dealer's discression to give you a rental.. they say Nissan won't pay for them.. not even on warranty work. Make sure they replace your solenoid otherwise they aren't following the most current procedures and its likely to keep going.

Yup....I have a ford escort right now.... Don't know how long it will take to get the parts in....they should let me know this afternoon. They said the will try and get me a better rental....I gave them the new TSB, so I will make sure that they put in the new solenoid....hehe....it is a bit strange to be happy to have a slipping tranny, but I guess that's the only way to get the updated parts....

UMD_MaxSE is using the same dealer I went to. They were nice enough to pay for my rental for 2 days. Originally they said I would have to pick up the 1st day. Since they didn't have the parts in stock, they would pay for the extra day of rental. They landed up picking up the whole tab.

Rosenthal Nissan in Gaithersburg MD...If you are in this area, then you would probably want to go there. Their service prices are a bit steep, but it's all good if they take care of the tranny without a hassle.
