Motor Mounts

I wanted to know if there is a cheaper alternative to replacing the electornic engine mounts in a 2000 maxima. I have a 00 se auto with 62,000 miles on it and the dealer wants me to pay 500 dollars for the front and rear mounts. Does any place like autozone or any other auto store sell a chepear brand comparable to the oem? I am very tired of that buzzing noise and i heard that the only way you can get rid of it is if you replace those mounts. Is the a dealer job or can i get my local mechanic to do it? I also was thinking about purchasing a fuel filter from nissan and letting my mechanic do that as well as putting on some new brake pads. Does a mushy pedal alway's mean that the pads are worn and should i get the front and rear pads replaced together? I just don't wanna waste any unnecessary money when i don't have too.
Sorry for all the questions and thanks for the replies

As far as I know engine mounts are not electronic. Last time I checked the dealer, they are about $115 a piece. You can get aftermarket ones from Place Racing (Cattman sells them too). They go for $275 for a set of 2 and made of polyurethane, which means they will be a lot harsher, but eliminate wheel hop. Hope this helps.

Referring to the brake question......a mushy pedal does not nessicarily mean worn pads....it could mean air in the brake line(s) as well.

About your motor mount problem....When you come to a complete stop can you feel a slight/significant vibration in your steering wheel?

The reason I ask is I am experiencing that but I'm not hearing any buzzing noise.

Thanks

I do not feel any vibration whatsoever. I'm just annoyed of that buzzing noise that happens constantly.

So, instead of buying brake pads first, i should see what the real problem is before i waste any money? Can a mechanic do the tedious fuel filter job??

Have you tried just unplugging the connector from the motor mounts? Might make the Check engine light come on....Not sure, It may not though. If you unplug them I would think that would stop the buzzing.
