5th Gen Mods

Don't have my car yet, picking it up tomorrow. Guess what, its a 2k2 SE Auto. An auto, aren't they slow? Yup.

Tried finding a S-AFC II hookup but wasn't successful so I did my own like I did for the 4th Gen.

Also re-did the low/high speed fan mod I did up for the 4th gen. This one only requires hooking up to 2 wires at the ECU and one to ground. Very simple and effective for manual control of the radiator fan speed.

There are a few more I am working on that some folks might be interested in, I will post when complete.

Your coming to the darkside JIME. Are you going to put the Nx kit in that car? Don't try and fool people here that don't know your track record with the 4th gen Auto. We know your crazy fast and give you a little time and your have that 5th gen in the 12's in no time.

This car only has 18k on it so still under warranty and I plan on keeping it pretty much stock.

Well, almost. I made a trip to Buffalo on Sat to visit Eric (ejj) and he was gracious enough to be the landing depot for a couple of mods. Hotshot, Illuminas etc for the 2k2. Plus I have a new set of slicks and am going to try something new for the rear wheel/tire combo which I am still working out.

That plus the 2 Stage NX should be interesting to try out. I will finally be able to utilize my S-AFC II now that I have a new wideband setup.

So, hoping to have some fun with my young fellow this year because he has a bunch of new stuff to and is currently running 12.5@109 in his DSM and in 2001 he had a best of 13.1 and so did I in the 97SE so we are pretty competitive.

To date I have not used the S-AFC II so it is definately not necessary. I have it hooked up but didn't have the wideband to tune it with so it just sat there and looked pretty.

I am doing a few things different from the norm so I want to make sure exactly where I am. I run higher shots than most people, use a fuel cell with 114 unleaded, 2 stage etc so its just a bit more critical that I know exactly where I am. Mainly though its another toy that I THINK I need.

Jim, congrats on the purchase of the 2k2! I cant wait to see what numbers you get out of this one.

You said you purchases Illumina's. Where did you buy them from? I may be looking for a set as well.
